2.7 Indigenous content production
Canadian content production
For the first time, Profile also provides information regarding the volume of Indigenous production. In compiling that data, Nordicity has used the definition for Indigenous production developed by the Indigenous Screen Office (ISO), which focuses on financial and creative control of the project by Indigenous persons. Of note, some funding agencies have developed definitions that vary slightly from this definition, but financing from these sources is included in total production volume.
The estimate for 2024/25 indicates the highest level of total volume ($347 million) for Indigenous audiovisual production, since that data was first tracked in 2019/20.
